Course 1 – Statement of Attainment in Leadership and Management (Emotional Intelligence)
BSBPEF502 Develop and use emotional intelligence
Students in this course must be enrolled before 30 September.
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to develop and use emotional intelligence to increase self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management in the workplace.
The unit applies to individuals who are required to identify, analyse, synthesise and act on information from a range of sources and who deal with unpredictable problems as part of their job role. These individuals may be responsible for leading a team or work area.
Course 2 – Statement of Attainment in Emotional Intelligence
BSBLDR511 Develop and use emotional intelligence
BSBLDR513 Communicate with influence
Students in this course must be enrolled before 23 September.
This course contains two units of competency.
The first unit covers the development and use of emotional intelligence to increase self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management in the context of the workplace.
It includes identifying the impact of own emotions on others in the workplace, recognising and appreciating the emotional strengths and weaknesses of others, promoting the development of emotional intelligence in others and utilising emotional intelligence to maximise team outcomes.
It applies to managers who are required to identify, analyse, synthesise and act on information from a range of sources and who deal with unpredictable problems as part of their job role. They use initiative and judgement to organise the work of self and others and plan, evaluate and co-ordinate the work of teams.
This second unit describes the skills and knowledge required to present and negotiate persuasively, lead and participate in meetings and make presentations to customers, clients and other key stakeholders.
It applies to managers and leaders who are required to identify, analyse, synthesise and act on information from a range of sources, and who deal with unpredictable problems as part of their job role. They use initiative and judgement to organise the work of self and others and plan, evaluate and co-ordinate the work of teams.
You will join the class online via Teams. You will be in a virtual classroom with other students from 9am to 4pm. You will need to complete some assessment work after the 1 day online class
Our Learning Management System (LMS) is Microsoft Teams. As a student at NTM, you will have your own FREE Microsoft 365 account, giving you access to all popular products, including Teams, Word, and PowerPoint. For the duration of your course, we will provide you with an educational Microsoft account, giving FREE access to the Office 365 product family. As you will have your own account, this will save you on purchasing the Office 365 suite or a subscription. If you already have your own subscription to Office 365 or are planning on purchasing Office, remember you will get all the Office products for FREE when you enrol.
After successful completion of this course you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency/s.
People undertaking training must meet the Smart and Skilled eligibility criteria and fit into at least one of the categories below:
- If you’re unable to work due to public health orders or on JobSaver, and therefore at risk of unemployment, then you are eligible.
- a young person aged 16-24, regardless of employment status, including Year 12 school leavers
- Commonwealth Government welfare benefit recipients (including their dependents)
- an unemployed person
- an employed person who is at risk of becoming unemployed (stood down/furloughed)
- Employed person who has been employed for 6 months or less
- Employed person who is low skilled/unskilled
- Employed person in declining industry
- Veteran’s Recognised Partner
Eligible participants will also need to be:
- living in NSW
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident
- no longer at school.
What do you need?
You will need to have good computer skills to undertake these short courses. You will also need access to a personal computer, a stable Wi-Fi connection and the ability to stream a video.
