Director of Regional Education
David is a distinguished professional with a unique blend of expertise in psychology, career development, and human resource management. As a registered psychologist and certified Adult, Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practitioner, he brings a wealth of knowledge to his role at National Training Masters (NTM), where he has been an integral part of the Senior Executive Team since 2015. In his capacity as the head of the Learning and Development (L&D) team, David spearheads initiatives that foster sustainable growth within the organization. His leadership style is characterised by a hands-on approach, working closely with NTM leaders and the HR People and Culture Team to attract and retain top-tier staff and educators. David’s commitment to student success is evident in his meticulous approach to course placement, ensuring that each learner is positioned for optimal outcomes from enrollment through to completion.
With over 27 years of experience in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) and tertiary sectors, David’s career spans prestigious organizations such as the Department of Education and Training, TAFE NSW, and various institutions within the school and ELICOS sectors. This extensive background has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of the educational landscape, which he leverages to drive innovation and excellence at NTM. As the custodian of NTM’s Regional Education portfolio, David is pivotal in supporting Australia’s rural communities. He collaborates closely with businesses and government entities to develop tailored training solutions that address the unique skills demands of regional areas. His residence in the Central West and active involvement in his local community underscore his commitment to regional development.
Alongside his responsibilities at NTM, David maintains a private consulting practice, offering specialised services in psychology, career development, and human resource development. This dual role allows him to stay at the forefront of industry trends and best practices, which he seamlessly integrates into his work at NTM. David’s passion for continuous learning and innovation is reflected in his research interests, which include the cutting-edge fields of Neuroplasticity and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in VET. He is also keenly focused on understanding and addressing the implications of “The Great Resignation” on retraining and career development strategies.
With his multifaceted expertise and dedication to both individual and community growth, David is a cornerstone of NTM’s commitment to excellence in vocational education and training.
